Balinese gamelan

Javanese master artist Peni Candra Rini leads GRK Student and Community members in a performance of traditional Javanese gamelan music, alongside performances of Japanese, Brazilian, and West African musics. Audience is invited to try the instruments after the show! Free and open to the public: Camp Concert Hall, Booker Building, University of Richmond.

GRK is lead by Balinese master artist I Gusti Putu Sudarta and Javanese master artist Peni Candrarini in a concert of traditional Indonesian gamelan music. Sudarta will perform an innovative shadow theater to accompany Justin Alexander's performance of Glenn Kotche's Monkey Chant for drumset. Free and Open to the Public.
